SINOPSIS
Jill Hennessy (Law & Order) marca su retorno a la televisión al estrenar una de las nuevas series de mayor audiencia de la temporada 2001/02 americana. Ella es la Dra. Jordan Cavanaugh, una sexy, inteligente y valiente médica forense de Boston con una carrera llena de sobresaltos, y con un gusto especial por ir más allá de la simple investigación de un crimen.
Después de hacer un impresionante trabajo en Los Angeles, la terca Jordan regresa a Boston, su ciudad natal, y a su antiguo trabajo en el Departamento de Investigación Criminal de Massachusetts, donde se reúne nuevamente con su padre, Max (Ken Howard), un ex-policial que aún continúa asombrado por el caso no resuelto de la muerte de su esposa. Ese trágico acontecimiento ayudó Jordan a crear una empatía por las víctimas indefensas que ella encuentra, mientras descarga su propia rabia para juntar las piezas de los complejos casos de asesinato que fueron escondidos, dejados de lado o convenientemente olvidados.
Jordan inmediatamente gana el apoyo de su excéntrico jefe, el Dr. Garret Macy (Miguel Ferrer), que tiene sus propios problemas. Otros compañeros que la ayudan en el trabajo son el entomologista forense "Bug" (Ravi Kapoor), la consejera Lily Lebowski (Kathryn Hahn) y el criminalista Nigel (Steve Valentine).
La serie puede ser descrita como una mezcla de dramas distinguidos como "Providence" y C.S.I.. "Pero esa es una serie con una versión mucho más obscura y distorsionada de la vida familiar", dice el creador Tim Kring, que ya fue productor de "Providence". Él añade que "Crossing Jordan" muestra más la vida personal de sus personajes que C.S.I., otro drama sobre investigación forense.
